This afternoon, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Chief of Defence Forces and Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations, accompanied the visiting Ethiopian military delegation to State House in Entebbe, where they were received by President Yoweri Museveni.
The Ethiopian military delegation is led by Gen Kainerugaba’s counterpart, Field Marshal Berhanu Jula, Chief of the General Staff of the Ethiopian National Defence Force. Field Marshal Berhanu is in Uganda at the invitation of Gen Kainerugaba.
President Museveni expressed his gratitude to the visiting delegation and emphasised the importance of strengthening military and bilateral relations among African nations. The Ugandan leader stressed the need for collaboration in various areas, including trade, to create a strong and prosperous Africa.
The meeting was also attended by the Ethiopian Ambassador to Uganda, Her Excellency Etsegenet Bezabih, Lt Gen Charles Okidi, Commander of the UPDF Air Force, and Brig Gen Daniel Kakono, Commander of the Field Artillery Division.
The meeting with the President follows Gen Kainerugaba’s meeting with Field Marshal Berhanu prior to hosting him for dinner with his delegation last night.
