The Third Deputy Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Rukia Nakadama praised the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces for commemorating the contributions of revolutionaries during the years of the protracted struggle. This was during the district launch of the 43rd Tarehe Sita Anniversary activities in Bugadde town council Mayuge district.
She thanked the Commander-in-Chief and the UPDF leadership for having chosen to reflect on a journey of fighting for freedom and recalling the fundamental foundations through its energetic partners.”
The Chief of Defence Forces in his speech read by the Chief Political Commissar, Major General Henry Masiko that UPDF celebrates Tarehe Sita so that people can also benefit from the lessons normally learnt in kyankwanzi.
The 43rd Tarehe Sita Anniversary will be celebrated in the districts of Jinja, Iganga, Luuka, Bugweri, Buyende, Namayingo, Bugiri, Mayuge, Kaliro, Namutumba and KamulI under the theme: “Celebrating the Peoples’ Struggle for Unity, Security and Peace for Socio-Economic Transformation”
Present at the launch were: Brig Gen Mwanje Ssekiranda, Senior UPDF Officers, and District and Community Leaders among others.
