Brig Gen (Rtd) Emmanuel Rwashande has called on the youth to adopt valuable lessons from the four-acre model, as chamapioned by the Commander-in-Chief across the country. He made he call today during cleaning activities at Ntusi Town Council, Ssembabule District.
Brig Gen Rwashande urged the youth to seize the opportunity presented by the peaceful environment, emphasising that it was achieved by the efforts of youth during the 1980s.
He advised them against destructive politics and encouraged the youth to remember the struggles of the past, as these can serve as strong stepping stones for the country’s progress.
“Guard the peace we are experiencing jealously,” he said, warning that once lost, peace is difficult to regain.
The Mayor of Ntusi Town Council, Kamihingo Emmanuel, praised the President for initiating the liberation struggle that brought peace to the country.
He also acknowledged the discipline instilled within the UPDF, which has become a people’s army that maintains positive relations with communities.
Relatedly, tree seedlings were distributed for planting within the town council, alongside the donation of 100 reflector jackets shared equally between Lwemiyaga and Ntusi boda boda youth.
Additionally, dustbins were provided to encourage efficient waste collection and promote a cleaner environment.
