The Director of Civil-Military Cooperation in the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces, Brig Gen Michael Kibuye, has commended Stanbic Bank for its consistent support towards the Tarehe Sita celebrations. He made the remarks while receiving donations from Stanbic Bank today at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Mbuya.
Stanbic Bank’s contributions included 10 delivery beds and 100 Mama Kits. These donations aim to promote safe motherhood and empower women, aligning with UPDF’s broader efforts to enhance community welfare. Additionally, the donation included 2,000 fruit tree seedlings and sports kits that will be delivered for the marathon ahead of the main Tarehe Sita celebrations.
Diana Ondoga, the Manager of Corporate Social Investment at Stanbic Bank, expressed her appreciation for the partnership, noting that the bank is committed to supporting UPDF’s community initiatives.
Ondoga expressed pride in the UPDF’s efforts to contribute to the health and well-being of Ugandans, emphasizing the organization’s commitment to giving back to the communities it serves.
She highlighted Stanbic’s collaboration with the Ministry of Health in ensuring that women, especially in rural areas, access critical health services.
Present were: Brig Gen Dr James Kiyengo, the Surgeon General and Director of Health Services for Land Forces; Col Deo Akiiki, Deputy Director of Defence Public Information; and Dr Edward Basenge, Program Officer at the Ministry of Health.
