The Resident District Commissioner for Buyende District Maj (Rtd) Betty Akello has today flagged off 41 participants to join the ideological training class at Wanyange Girls School in Jinja.
This follows the growing need for ideology as witnessed by the behaviour of some individuals.
The 12 women and 29 youth leaders will receive a 5-day training to further their knowledge on how Patriotism, Pan-Africanism, Democracy and Socioeconomic transformation have scored for the success of the current government.
This course is going to be run on the theme: “Celebrating the Peoples’ Struggle for Unity, Security and Peace for Social Economic Transformation.”
Participants were drawn from all districts of Busoga sub-region
In her brief remarks, the Buyende RDC called upon participants to exhibit exemplary behaviour throughout their stay, create unity, show teamwork, make new friends and borrow good ideas from other district participants.
She thanked the President and Commander in chief of the UPDF Gen Yoweri Museveni for his tireless efforts in building ideological clarity among Ugandans.
According to Maj (TD) Akello, proper ideological orientation will move the country forward with less difficulty and lead to lasting social-economic transformation in the long run.
Upon their return, participants are expected to disseminate the acquired knowledge to the community.
The function was also attended by Maj Sam Itungura Buyende District Tarehe Sita Coordinator, SP Ayesiga Jeniffer DPC Buyende District, Mr. Lomongin Joseph CAO Buyende, Mr. Natsambwa Samson Deputy CAO and Mr. Kanywani Andrew DISO Buyende district.
