President Yoweri Museveni commended UPDF for always following his advice and implementing his directives. This was at the pass out for soldiers at the Armoured warfare Training School-Karama
Addressing the graduates, he said “you are doing well, you are young people and you should avoid vices like alcohol in order to be successful and serve UPDF to their full potential. We are getting a culture of a real revolutionized army.”
In his speech he also promised to tarmac the main road around and within the training base.
Representing the Chief of Defence forces, The Deputy Chief of Defence Forces Lt Gen Peter Elwelu thanked the President for always making time for UPDF regardless of his busy schedule and asked the President to continue supporting the refurbishment and infrastructure improvements of the training base.
The Commandant of the Armoured warfare Training School-Karama Col P.J Kajoba reported in his speech that of the two groups that were graduating, 101 participants were graduating from the Armour Platoon Commanders Course and 456 participants were graduating from the Armour Crew Course.
The President and Guests in attendance also oversaw a military exercise by students at the base.
In attendance were Joint Chief of Staff (JCOS) Maj Gen Leopold Kyanda, Air Force commander Lt Gen Charles Lutaaya, other senior and Junior leaders of the UPDF fraternity, local and religious leaders.
