The Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army of Algeria, General Saïd Chanegriha, hosted a luncheon in honor of Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Chief of Defence Forces of the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) who is visiting the North African country.
The luncheon at the National Military Club in the Algerian capital, Algiers followed an official meeting between the two military leaders and their delegations where they discussed the upcoming signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the UPDF and the Algerian army.
The luncheon was attended by top Algerian military leaders, who engaged in cordial conversations with Gen Kainerugaba’s delegation.
Gen Kainerugaba’s delegation is comprised of top UPDF Generals including Maj Gen James Birungi, the Chief of Defense Intelligence and Security, Maj Gen Bob Ogiki, Joint Staff Policy and Strategy, and Maj Gen Keith Katungi, the 5Division Infantry Commander.
The gesture highlights the growing military diplomacy between Uganda and Algeria, with a focus on enhancing regional security and stability.
